Can I put my UPS package in a drop box? ›

If you want to pick up your package at a UPS Customer Center, your request must be received by 7 p.m. If you're unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point^® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days.

You can also schedule a pickup by calling a UPS office (see ups.com® for specific telephone numbers). Additional pickup fees may apply. *UPS accepts ground shipments with a UPS Returns label at all drop box locations. Size restriction applies to all drop box shipment (maximum size is 16" x 13" x 3").

With UPS Mail Innovations Returns, your customers can conveniently return their packages using their mailbox, postal carrier, local post office or any postal drop box nationwide. In addition, customers can call the USPS for a free pickup right from their doorstep.

UPS Delivery Attempts

UPS makes up to three delivery attempts, depending on the recipient's availability. If the recipient is not home to receive their package, UPS leaves a delivery notice each time, informing them of the missed attempt and the next steps.

What happens if I miss the UPS signature required delivery? If you miss the UPS signature required delivery, UPS will make three attempts to deliver the package. After the third attempt, the package will be returned to the sender.
